Cascarilla powder, also known as Efun in the Yoruba religion, is a protective mixture of crushed eggshell powder and Holy Water. This mixture has been blessed with ceremonial prayers and is associated with the Orisha Obatala. In Santeria, Cascarilla powder is to be used: in any spiritual bath, to rub on the body from the shoulders down, or in floor washes for purification and protection.
