The Ammonia Jar spell is among one of the easiest and most effective Hoodoo spells to do, like The Lemon Curse, with very little materials needed to perform it correctly. This reversal spell is a very old form of magic that has been used by many African American families in the south to turn situations around in matters of: money, career, enemies, court cases, etc. My clients will often ask whether or not it will work for love and I always tell them that I’m not sure because I’ve never used it for that purpose.
Materials needed for the Ammonia Jar spell:
- A Mason jar with a metal lid
- A large jug of Ammonia
- Either a pencil, black ink pen, or a black permanent marker
- Either a piece of brown paper bag or a piece of parchment paper.
- Some super glue
To perform the Ammonia Jar spell, you will need to write a short statement about your situation, such as “I lost my job,” that you would like to turn around on the torn piece of paper. You will then glue the back of the paper to the inside of the metal lid of the mason jar. Alternatively, some people will just tape the paper to the inside of the mason jar, without gluing it to the inside of the lid. Fill the mason jar, about an inch below the rim, with ammonia then secure it with the lid as tight as possible.
Once the jar is closed, hold it in your hands while visualizing your problem completely being banished as well as speaking it into existence. At this point, you are going to physically turn the mason jar upside down and sit it on a flat surface to never be reversed again. Get either a black cloth or bag and then place the jar inside of it already turned upside down. Securely tie either your cloth or bag into a knot at the top then hide it somewhere in the dark where it will never be seen or disturbed by anyone but you.
The moment that you realize that your situation has turned around to your liking, you will need to immediately get rid of the bag or cloth with the jar in it! You can dispose of this spell by either burying it far from your home or by dropping it into a natural body of water such as a river. The Ammonia Jar spell will work rather quickly, depending on the severity of your individual circumstances, so expect to see the results of this manifestation in about: 3 days, 3 weeks, or 3 months.
Alternative Tips for a Successful Ammonia Jar spell
You can do the Ammonia Jar spell at any time that you feel it is needed but for optimal results I suggest that you perform it during the Waning Moon. The best time to do any type of reversal spells or rituals that are centered around removing unwanted people or conditions from your life is during the waning moon as its size steadily decreases. Burn some Dragon’s Blood Incense sticks while you are performing the Ammonia Jar spell to amplify the energy around it and have no doubts that you will see results. Always try to remain optimistic and confident in any ritual that you do because it will most certainly help your spell manifest to your liking as soon as possible.
It will help tremendously if you can use the out of sight out of mind approach after disposing of the remnants of this spell. In my experience, when I’ve taken this approach, the Universe usually will hand me a complete victory in the form of a total 360 turn around in the situation at hand!
Does it have to be brown paper? I used a small strip of white paper and proceeded with the exact steps who provided above.
It can also be parchment paper.
Just a few personal tips when doing ammonia jars:
I personally tape mine shut to avoid leaking.
I keep a separate pot of dirt where I bury mine so it won’t leak into the soil and I can set it & forget it.
I always keep my brown paper bags so I have some type of brown paper in my house for petitions.
If that works for you then that’s great but me personally I follow the original Black American Hoodoo tradition that this spell calls for. My jars have never leaked because I always close the lid as tight as possible. Also the object of this spell is to turn conditions around so once conditions have changed I would never want to keep old baggage anywhere around me to resurface again. This is why it MUST be thrown far away from around you.
I recently came across a video showing this spell. There, the sheet was taped to the edge of the glass, with the writing facing inward. Your photos show the text facing outward. Does this matter?
I have two other questions: Pure ammonia is not liquid, commercially available are only solutions with 25% to 32% ammonia content. Does it also work with it?
And second question, my ex lets me see her daughter, with whom I lived five years, only once a month. But I want to see her at least two or three times a week in person (not via video call). What do I write on the note then?

I made this ammonia reversal spell jar and the situation actually got worse.. Is this normal? Do a sequence of events need to occur first before things get better? Can you please help because this is actually the second time this has happened with a ammonia jar… The first ammonia jar I made that I used for my relationship made my relationship fall apart even more before the situation finally turned around and it seems like the same thing is happening with this ammonia jar now.. Am I doing something wrong or is this just a normal process?

Hello and thanks for this post. Quick question, can I do a second jar if the current situation still seems to exist or should I work my existing jar or just be patient? I’ve heard that sometimes depending on the situation I will have to do a second jar. If that’s the case should I get rid of the first one and start a new? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
